Up, up and away

[4th June]

In recent weeks, the number of flights taking off and landing at our airports has increased dramatically.

Ryanair resumed flights between BCA and Portugal and Spain, with flights to Italy due to start in July. Vueling Airlines is commencing a Belfast to Barcelona route this week too. EasyJet has launched a new route from Belfast International to Bournemouth, as well as flights to Portugal. Jet2, which also flies from BIA is expected to resume its holiday flights from late June.

Domestic flights are also returning, with the announcement of Belfast to Cardiff and Glasgow routes. The airport offers frequent domestic services to connect Belfast with the rest of Great Britain and has always been a popular choice for business passengers. The launch of several key holiday routes with Ryanair will increase the footfall through the terminal building and build on NI’s accessibility for holidaymakers.

OOH options on all airport sites are available and extremely popular for a range of brands and services. Belfast City, Belfast International and City of Derry airports serve a huge number of passengers every year, each with its own comprehensive OOH inventory on internal and external sites.

With our recent research study, iQ, we found that almost half (48%) of adults in Northern Ireland have plans to visit an outdoor tourist attraction as soon as they open, airport advertising could offer a great opportunity for those people travelling through the airports for business or pleasure. Frequent reminders of the incredible range of tourist attractions here, which are frequently overlooked by locals, could help entertain people in the long summer ahead.
