Have you glided into work yet with Translink’s new Glider? On the 3rd September, Translink used OOH to launch their new £90 million Glider bus service in an aim to encourage commuters to use public transport. The new Glider operates cross-city routes between East and West Belfast, and the City Centre to the Titanic Quarter.

To celebrate the launch of the innovative new public transport service, Translink took total domination of Adshel Live for one day with a spectacular animated display of exploding fireworks. The creative incorporated a ‘GLIDING NOW’ strapline to raise awareness of the new service gone live.

As well as Adshel Live, Translink also used a range of other OOH formats including 96 Sheets, 48 Sheets, Digital Screens and 6 Sheets. This multi-format approach ensured that the potential campaign effectiveness was maximised.

Mark Thompson, Media Director of Ardmore said; “With the launch of a major infrastructure initiative delivering a new dawn for the public of Belfast, and as a statement for future development across the city, a statement launch had to be delivered from the media strategy. A domination of Adshel Live panels, on the Glider route itself, not only delivered this impact statement, but what better media choice for telling a story of the future of Belfast”.
