Charity Shops’ Challenge

We’re taking part in the 2023 Charity Shops’ Challenge, a unique fundraising event benefitting Cancer Focus Northern Ireland, organised by Business in the Community.

On Friday 19th May, the PML Group NI staff will be in Bangor to take over the Cancer Focus NI shop, competing against other businesses to see who can raise the biggest total overall.

As part of our fundraising efforts, we’re planning a coffee morning in our newly refurbished office with a date TBC. In addition, we are asking for support from you, our media partners.

How can you help?

Charity shops rely on donations for stock, and as part of the challenge we’re on a quest to gather good quality items that you no longer use – including clothing, books, gift sets or toys. By donating to us by 5th May, we can arrange to have the items ready for sale for the Charity Shops’ Challenge day.

Of course, we would also love you to join us on 19th May. Can you spare an hour to help us fundraise, or visit the store to shop more sustainably and raise vital money in the process?

Our Fundraising Raffle

We have had incredible support from our media partners who have made generous donations to our fundraisign raffle. Prizes include:

  • 2 x The Coronas tickets (Friday 25th August)
  • 2 x Lionel Ritchie tickets (Saturday 3rd June)

  • 2 x bottles of wine
  • £50 Victoria Square voucher
  • £50 Visit Belfast Restaurant Voucher
  • £25 voucher for Irvine’s Butchery, Bangor

For your chance to win, visit our Justgiving page. Each £5 donation to Cancer Focus NI is counted as one raffle ticket. Please ensure your name is on the donation so we can inform lucky winners! We’ll be closing ticket sales and completing the draw on 26th May.

Raffle items have been kindly donated by Optimum Media, GAP Advertising, Global, Clear Channel NI, JCDecaux, McGowan’s Print and Belfast City Airport.

We’ve also devised a scavenger hunt for kids to learn more about Bangor – it’s free to enter and the lovely team at W5 have donated a family pass for one lucky entrant. Just download and print a copy of the worksheet, then return it to the Cancer Focus NI shop in Bangor before 27th May.

Get in touch to find out more about the challenge and how you can help us raise money for Cancer Focus NI. Our staff team will be able and willing to answer any questions you may have!
