School is back before Easter
[26th February] 75,000 Primary 1, 2 and 3 pupils are returning to classrooms from 8th March, following the most recent confirmation from the NI Executive. The phased reopening of schools’ roadmap has not been published in its entirety yet, however we do know that secondary pupils who would ordinarily sit exams this summer will be next to return to in-person teaching. From 22nd March, children in Years 11 – 14 will attend school, while P1-3 will revert to remote schooling.
Welcomed by pupils, teachers and parents, the reopening of schools is a key step in the economic reopening of society. Children with keyworker parents or who are vulnerable are still able to continue their education as normal and have done throughout.
Our mapping software allows easy identification of school and childcare venues, enabling campaign deliver on routes which will see increased traffic volumes in coming weeks. The phased return will initially reopen over 800 primary schools, with 55,000 secondary pupils returning to 192 schools several weeks later.
With public transport uptake likely to remain lower than normal, and parents experiencing increased flexibility due to home-working, it’s plausible to suggest that more children than ever will take a parent taxi to their place of education. Now is the time for brands to kick their marketing plans into gear, delivering advertising in locations that will see a significant uplift in traffic flows. With Easter a key period for retailers, it’s the perfect opportunity to deliver an effective campaign.
